A beautiful pair of French art deco wall sconces around 1930-35. Polished solid brass mounts hold leaf shaped slip shades in molded-pressed glass. The shades have a frosted structured surface on the inside giving them a vivid appearance. On the outside the glass has gold enamelled highlights. The shades are signed Ezan france. Ezan was a large glass manufactory in the town of Ezanville a little north of Paris. In the mid 30ies it became wellknown for its glassware in bluish opalescent semi-crystal like we can often see on for instance Charles Ranc or Henri Petitot chandeliers of the late thirties.
The sconces are in excellent condition. I have cleaned and polished the brass mounts. And they come rewired. Right now they hold their old B22 bayonet sockets. For European countries I will rewire them with E14 socket so you can use our normal light bulbs. For the US or Japan I will place american candelabra base sockets..
Safe packaging guaranteed : As restorer of French art Deco lighting I sell my lamps online for a fraction of the prices art deco specialized antique shops sell for. For over 20 years I ship my parcels worldwide with the precious items well protected and fully insured.
