An impressionist harbour view with the Grote Kerk (Our Lady's Church) in the city of Dordrecht (The Netherlands). The painting is signed at the bottom right and is in good condition.
The German painter Otto Hamel (1866-1950) studied with Eduard von Hagen and Hans Semper at the Königliche Erfurter Kunstschule in Erfurt. He was then taught by Max Koch and Franz Skarbina at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Berlin. In 1888, he made a journey to Italy. Hamel then studied (1889-1890) with Benjamin Constant, R. Fleury and Lefebvre at the Julian Academy in Paris. After 1890, he taught at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Hanover. In 1892-1910, Hamel made study trips to the Netherlands.
The painting will be carefully packed and shipped by registered mail.
The painting (including frame 79 x 93 cm) can also be picked up. The frame is in good condition and has signs of wear.
