Société Normande de Gravure: Company founded in 1891 in Rouen by GH Manesse, with the help of his colleagues or art lovers Brunet-Debaines, Buhot, Delaunay, Hotin, Lamotte, P. Delesques, P. Lafond, A. Darcel, etc. Its purpose is to preserve, by engraving by masters born in Normandy or having some attachment with it, the precious works preserved in the Norman public or private collections, the works of famous Norman artists scattered in all the museums, the old monuments of Normandy, and the portraits of famous children of this province. Drawing of boards limited to the number of members (234 in 1921), plus some proofs for the engraver, the archives and the legal deposit; plates were destroyed. The proofs are signed and numbered, mostly drawn on japan, some on vellum.
