This poster, produced by Christopher Wool and Felix Gonzalez-Torres in 1993, was created by the artists as part of their collaboration for Printed Matter in Dia, New York. For the exhibition, the artists specified that the ideal height of the stack of these prints was eight inches and visitors were allowed to take individual sheets off the top of the pile to take home. The text on the poster is taken from Russian writer and philosopher Vasili Rozanov’s definition of Nihilism.
